As you'll be aware we've been battling some technical glitches over the last few months but everything seems to be back up and running smoothly now.
A new guided meditation "Escaping Anxiety", will be added to out Full Members Area in the next couple of days, and there are plans afoot for our new online radio station. If anyone would like to contribute material or discussion points for this, please get in touch.

I went to the Tree Circle where I had last met with the Kith of the Earthen Star for the Blue Moon Ritual as I really felt the need to mark the passing into a new season very strongly.
I did the normal steps of clearing the space, cleansing , cast a circle, called the quarters, etc. I gave thanks for past wishes granted and for the bounty of harvest which seemed appropriate for this time of year. In particular I thought of Autumnus and Pan and acknowledged those who's names were yet…Continue

You'll have all seen that the front page of the site holds info about the magical calendar. Now since this site started life (way back in 2009) we've always displayed the more modern names for the moons and festivals. However, those of you who are full members will know that when we send out newsletter, we always go for the older traditional names.
My question is this: Is it time to ditch the modern and go back to our roots?

I thought I better put up a little blog post to let you all know I'm still alive! Things have been chaos over the last few months, mostly in a good way, occasionally in more challenging ways.
Rest assured updates are coming over the next week or so, lol.
The site seems to have come alive over the past few months, and this is purely down to you, our awesome members, sharing stories and experiences with each other.

About a month ago I learned about the local tale of the Witch of Hollow Hole who was :
A field adjoining the site of the mansion is still known by the name of Chapel-garth. A short distance from Chapel-garth in a hollow place, is a large stone called the "conjuring stone." In the days of superstition and witches, a troubled ghost supposed to beContinue
'Doom'd for a certain time to walk the night,
And for the day confin'd to fast in fires;
Till the foul crimes…

Is paganism really made up on the spot, invented off-the-cuff? That's not what it means to me. My understanding of paganism is thousands of years old with traditions and inherited information not only passed down through history and through my ancestors, but that expands my own experiences in nature and in life. I taker her point about challenging the idea that a religion is less than…

So I had a go at scrying for the first time last night. It's something I've been wanting to try for the last , ooh 25 years or so... I've had this book called 'The Complete Fortune Teller' since about 1989 and always refereed back to it for learning about divination in it's many forms.
It's an odd little book in that it comprehensively covers nearly all forms of the craft from Tarot, Cartomancy, Numerology, Tasseology, Scrying, i-ching, ESP cards, Astrology, Chinese Astrology,…Continue

I got my first Tarot deck when I was 11, it was the Marseilles mini deck from my Mum and Dad for Christmas, I wish it had spoken to me but the imagery remained staunchly aloof. Over the years the deck has disappeared from me but my interests has remained. I recently decided to get a new deck and was delighted at the vast improvement in the range of themes and variations of artwork over that past 25 years. I fell in love with the beautiful Wild Wood Tarot deck however while awaiting it's…Continue

I have sadly hit a wall when it comes to my attempts to self employment, I am getting support from my friends and family though with offers of guidance, teaching and even help to pay for my first year of insurance for craft stalls e.t.c., which I will be trying to sort out as soon as I have more to sell, it will just be a slow going process.
I also applied for a job that I really want last week and with everything going on and practicing with my new tarot cards I'm still keeping busy.…

I've had so much going on lately from getting my level one in Reiki to going to events like the brass market and the opening of castle keep and I have more in the next few weeks!
I'm also currently shopping for my first deck of tarot cards to get started there and getting supplies ready to start selling my crafts!
Wish me luck x

I've decided to put some mini-courses together in the Free Members area, as a way of expanding the free information we provide. These courses differ from our full length courses, available to Full Members, in a couple of ways:
- Length. This is the main difference, where as the full length courses have around an hour of instructional videos, require 5-20 hours practical/research practice, and 3 assignments. The mini courses will have 10-20 minutes of videos, require 1-5 hours…Continue

Altars have many uses within witchcraft, they can be used in spells, as a way to display the turning of the Wheel of the Year, or just as a place for contemplation and meditation.
Altars can vary in size and form as much as magic practitioners themselves do. They can be a small wooden box containing a few items, right up to a 6 by 4 foot carved oak slab. I’ve seen many altars set up on windowsills, shelves, bedside tables and mantelpieces. Altars also do not need to by in a fixed…Continue

Plants form an integral part of magic. They can be used to decorate places and alters, they can be turned into incense or burnt as smudge sticks.
In an ideal world we would all grow and harvest our own herbs, or forage for wild ones our self. If you do decide to go down the route of growing your own I would recommend using a book such as ‘Gardening and Planting by The Moon…’ in order to gain maximum magical energy in them. If you decide to collect plants and herbs from the wild please…Continue
Crystals are a valuable and very versatile tool. You can wear them as a talisman, place them on altars and incorporate them in to spells. Below is a list of my favourites and how I use them. As with all magical correspondences the below list is by no means set in stone, there is every possibility that a particular crystal will present you with an entirely different set of energies to the associated ones I've described. Work with what feels right for you, our connection with magical energies…Continue

Candles are a staple tool of any magical practitioner and candle magic is a wonderfully simple way to cast spells. When I first started practicing witchcraft it was the first type of spell I learnt. It is also very easy to personalise, and after all if we can’t personally connect with the spell we are casting then it is unlikely to be successful. The use of candles can also be incorporated into larger rituals, in fact I can’t remember being at any ritual that didn’t include candles in some…Continue

If you are reading this expecting long mysterious explanations of cryptic ceremonies used to conjure magic, I am afraid I am about to disappoint you.
What is magic? Everything.
Where is magic? Everywhere.
You just have to learn to see it, feel it and recognise it. For me at least, magic isn’t something we create it is something we use. A type of energy given of by…Continue

Ginger is extensively employed in treating the soreness in the throat. Ginger, taken as ginger tea or ginger juice taken with little honey is similarly effective within this cure.
In bronchial asthma a tea spoon of turmeric is included to 1 glass of lukewarm drinking water .It's…
